Youth Essential Services (YES) is a Child Residential Group Home providing a structured, family-style environment for 1-4 male youths, ages 11-17, referred by Children and Youth Agencies. Each child undergoes a prescreening process to ensure that our program is equipped to meet their individual needs while fostering a supportive and developmentally appropriate environment.

While each youth has a private bedroom, the group setting encourages positive social interaction, skill-building, and emotional development.

- Research and best practices indicate that unnecessary isolation of children with intellectual disabilities can be counterproductive to therapeutic progress. Therefore, our program fosters an inclusive approach that enables interaction within a structured, professionally supervised setting, ensuring that all participants benefit from age-appropriate social and therapeutic experiences.

The typical residential treatment episode ranges from two weeks to six months, with residents progressing through Youth Essential Services' Three-Phase Critical Support Program. Each resident begins in Phase I, receiving intensive 2:1 Critical Support focused on stabilization, trauma-informed mentoring, behavioral support, crisis prevention, therapeutic intervention, and the development of a safe, structured foundation for treatment. As residents demonstrate clinical progress, they transition to Phase II, which provides individualized 1:1 Critical Support emphasizing treatment engagement, personal responsibility, behavioral accountability, skill development, continued mentoring, and the reinforcement of emotional regulation and self-management skills. Residents who achieve sustained progress advance to Phase III, which focuses on maintaining treatment gains, promoting increased independence, strengthening decision-making abilities, and reinforcing long-term success through a targeted daily Critical Support framework. Youth Essential Services adheres to all applicable Pennsylvania Chapter 3800 Regulations, including those governing resident privacy, supervision, and safety. The residence is equipped with continuous 24-hour security camera monitoring of common areas to promote a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment while ensuring compliance with state regulations and recognized best practices in residential child care.
